In these recent weeks, Singapore was having a super hot climate, but nothing was going to stop us from going out to explore more fun places to bring family to.
We remembered some years back this place was pretty empty with just a few swings and a simple slide. We decided to return to this place and explore. We were surprised to see a whole new look and it is totally worth travelling there.
Where was this place that we were talking about? It was '
dddddddrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....................'
SEMBAWANG PARK.
Interestingly, Sembawang Park was named after a tree called Sembawang Tree (Mesua Ferruginea). This park which was formerly occupied by the British Forces, went into many different stages of change till the present park today. This explains why we saw quite a few black & white colonial houses along the road leading in. This park is also one of the few parks left with natural sandy beach in Singapore.

Fun corners for children to climb at the Battleship Playground |
Before we could start exploring the park, the children had ran off towards the playground to start their fun day out. The structure of the playground was shaped like a battleship to reflect the history of Sembawang area. There were plenty of places to climb and explore, and was perfect for playing hide and seek or a game of tag. |

Furry pals having fun playing with each other |
Due to the hot weather, we had to take a water break. Finally, a chance to explore the vicinity. Just behind the Battleship, we came across something new that was starting to make it's way to our different Singapore Parks. It was the Dog Run area. How cool was that! All the dog lovers out there, take note of this newly built Dog Run area for your furry pals. We chanced upon a couple of dogs having a fun time playing with their owners. While the furry friends were interacting among themselves, the owners were exchanging tips and tricks with each other. |

Lily having fun playing catch at the Dog Run area |
We came to realise that Lily was a lost street dog and her kind hearted owners decided to save her and foster her till another loving owner is found for Lily. On a side note, this weekend 4th & 5th October, SOSD (Save Our Street Dogs) is having an adoption drive at Playground @ Big Splash. Please head down and support the SOSD as the non-profit organisation puts in a lot of effort to save our street dogs. Kudos to the samaritans.

Cute guards guarding the colonial house at the fun park |
After having great fun playing with the cute dogs we headed down to the beach. Just right in front of the beach, there was a historical colonial house which was converted from a family home to the current restaurant called Beaulieu House, and it was guarded by two cute guards.

Fishing at Sembawang jetty |
Strolling along the newly built broad walk, we could see many fishing hobbyists as well as children having fun scootering around. Taking a dip in the sea is a refreshing option, if you cannot endure the scorching afternoon sun. |

Although it was a hot family day out, we had so much fun exploring this park. This is a great place for family or friends to come together for a fun day out to picnic or a barbecue session. If you do decide to drop by Sembawang Park, drop us a note on what you think of the park. Have a blessed weekend!
