What a beautiful weather for a day out exploring our new Singapore Sports Hub. It’s a great
venue for families with relatives, friends or anyone who loves sports
activities or just a fun outing. Today welovedayout decided to explore the vicinity and experience what our Sports Hub has to offer.
We decided to take the MRT (Mass Rapid Transport) train to the Stadium station which is located just right beside the Singapore Sports Hub and the Kallang Wave. How convenient is that!

Our first stop was the Sports Hub library. For information, this particular library is not part of our NLB (National Library Board) group. This library operates independently therefore it
does not accept our usual NLB membership card. We checked out the membership prices and were happy to know that it is FREE for Singapore Citizens as well as Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs). Just bring your identity card down and fill up the membership form or you can do it via online. With the Basic Membership Card you are allow to borrow up to 10 books as well as other resources. For non Singaporeans and PR, a membership fee required.
What is so different about this library? This library ONLY carries books related to a wide variety of sports, fitness and health. It
also comes with lots of fun activities for the entire family in two
very spacious levels!

Next, we visited the Skate Park. It
is a fun place for the bigger kids who love skateboarding and
exchanging skills with each other. Today we had the privilege to
witness some amazing skateboarders’ stunts as they were having
their adrenalin rush.

Just beside the Skate Park, there are basketball courts for the enthusiasts as well. Families or groups of friends can book a court and enjoy a bonding time through friendly matches.

As we stroll along the hub, we discovered two fun kids' play area. One is the kids' playground and the other is Splash - N - Surf, though Splash - N - Surf is not officially open yet. Besides the Kids' Playground there is an Exercise & Fitness Station corner too. Good
especially for parents like us to do some workout while our kids have
their fun at the playground.

As we head down to the Beach Volleyball. We caught a view of our majestic dome looking National Stadium. We can't wait for National Day to be held at this newly built Stadium. It will definitely be a fantastic experience, especially for the Singaporeans. Makes us want to start singing an old classic song, " We are Singapore, We are Singapore, We will stand together hear the lion roar!"

It was an interesting sight to have a beach volleyball area at the Sports Hub. Behind the volleyball courts is the Marina Reservoir that adds a beach feeling to this area. Maybe
we should book a court and try, even though knowing we wouldn’t be
able to hit over the net. Hahahaha. Guess we would be making a fool
of ourselves!

As the day turned evening, we saw more people exploring the hub. Cyclist, runners, photographers, and many others can be seen around.
We had a fun and enjoyable day exploring the Sports Hub. It
is a great place for both families and groups of individuals to have
a great bonding time doing plenty of fun activities. Not forgetting
the love birds!
There are a lot more that the Sports Hub offers, so do check out the Singapore Sports Hub for more details. We are off to dinner now, catch you in our next day out story.
